We all have days where we feel a touch moody. Mome We all have days where we feel a touch moody. Moments or sunshine followed immediately by rain. Then rainbows and clarity. We had one of those days.

My greatest loves. ☀️⛱ My greatest loves. ☀️⛱
What kind of relationship do you have with food? What kind of relationship do you have with food?

I watch My daughter explore everything with her hands, throw, taste and just have a great time - all while know exactly when she has had enough and what she wants today to meet her nutritional needs.

It just fascinates me that we have this innate wisdom in us, but then we get programmed by our parents, society and peers as we grow up.

We worry about what we eat. How we look. If we should eat that because you might get bloated and then you get muffin top in your jeans - seriously, it’s ridiculous what we put ourselves through. That inner critic can be so damn nasty.

Then a lot us look in the mirror and beat ourselves up over how we look anyways.

What can you do to change your relationship with food or what your tell yourself when you look in the mirror?

I’m learning as I grow older and wiser that telling your body it’s beautiful or that you’re a goddess works magic on your self esteem. And since having a baby I’ve stopped worrying about food because now I appreciate the body for what it is - absolutely MIRACULOUS!

I took a little HIATUS from the Gram. Over two mon I took a little HIATUS from the Gram. Over two months off. Didn’t realise I needed it until I did.

When life gets busy my go-to response is do more, rather than slow down and do less. I’ve always been a busy person, busy in my mind which manifests in lack of time being still. Yoga and meditation has been my salvation when the sneaky little worker-bee in my mind takes flight.
🐝
The break from work and more time with loved ones has filled up my cup. I feel calmer, energised but from a quiet place not a busy must-achieve-more place.
.
Over the break without social media I knocked over about two books a week. Mostly fiction. Somewhere for my mind to escape and completely switch off. It was just Devine.
📚
Now I’ve jumped back into the river that is work and life and it is moving along at a nice pace. For now. I’m taking the time to stay still and connected to my higher self. Yoga everyday even for 10 mins. It helps me feel more rather than think.
.
What did you do over the break to help you fill up your cup? Are you still doing it? And why not???

Nikki Briscoe

Founder and Yoga Teacher

Nikki was, until recently, a corporate marketer. Now, she brings her creativity to a flowing, nourishing yoga practice.

The focus of her classes is to make you breathe, smile, move and nourish – delivering vitality to each corner of the body.

Her classes are strong and steady, helping participants build mental resilience, as well as muscle. She likes to flow, sometimes dance and sometimes get you to walk around like a T-rex – she doesn’t take yoga or life too seriously. But she really loves yoga and meditation and will take any opportunity to talk to someone about it.

She is a 500hr certified Vinyasa Yoga teacher, 100hr Yin Yoga Teacher and Fertility Yoga teacher – and will very soon be teaching Pilates.

Nikki is most passionate about empowering women – helping them find their inner fire, creativity and healing abilities. Read more about Nikki’s journey here.
